Taking a long flight to go on holiday is something which is exciting and daunting at the same time.
There are so many things to bear in mind before you head off that you might overlook the need to dress comfortably for the trip. You certainly don’t want to have to travel for hours wearing the wrong clothes so here are some of the tips to bear in mind.
Keep It Loose
Tight fitting garments can become extremely uncomfortable after you have been sitting down with them on for a while. For flights which are going to take you a while to reach your destination it makes sense to wear loose fitting clothes which will keep you feeling good all the way. Don’t forget that even if the flight isn’t all that long you might still end up sitting around in the airport or on the connecting bus service for a long time. If you are going to a cold weather destination then you might want to leave your heavy jacket in an easy to find place in your hold luggage if it is too big and bulky to take on board with you.
Use Layers
It can get cold once you are up in the air. This means that if you are going to a hot destination you might feel really chilly if you head off wearing your shorts and sandals. A good idea is to wear different layers. This means that you can put on a jumper or jacket on the plane and then start to take the layers off as you arrive. Clothes collections like the White Stuff one are ideal for letting you travel knowing that you can cope with any conditions which are thrown at you. Don’t forget to take a bag which is big enough to hold all of the layers to decide to take off.
Avoid the Wrinkles
You are best looking for some clothes which aren’t going to get all wrinkly as you travel. A long flight to go on holiday involves a lot of time sitting around and you don’t want to arrive looking like you have just slept in your clothes, even if you have done exactly this on the flight over. This is especially important when you are heading off for business reasons, but even if it is a pleasure trip you won’t want to turn up looking too wrinkled.
Go for Dark Colours
It can be tempting to try and get into the holiday mood by wearing our brightest and boldest clothes when we leave home. This might get us feeling in the right frame of mind but it could be something we end up regretting later on. It is not uncommon for drinks and food to get spilled on airplanes and you could end up arriving at your destination in a bit of a state if your clothes show up every single stain. With darker clothing you will be able to hide any undesirable marks and blemishes a lot more easily.
