Three Awesomel Things to Do in England

England may be a tiny speck of a country, but it’s spirited, rich and diverse. You have your pick of practically any activity in the UK (we’re sure even camel rides are on offer somewhere , but this is our shortlist of fantastic things to do when you visit.

Go to a museum late opening

London has many, many fantastic free permanent museums with an ever-changing line up of paid shows to go and see. We recommend going to a late opening on the last Friday of the month. The British Museum, the Design Museum, the National Gallery and the two Tate museums are all great venues to visit. Make sure you go armed with a little bit of money for a drink and a chocolate brownie in the cosy cafes.

Attend an Asian wedding

Asian weddings are notorious for an invite list that regularly stretches into the hundreds, for families of all social statuses and budgets. Therefore, catering to Asian wedding events has become a special niche for high capacity venues that have the space and the available manpower to accommodate such a large wedding party. Asian weddings at Kempton Park are a fairly regular occurrence, and if you’re around for one of the race days then you might spot a happy couple celebrating their special day.

Walk the country coast-to-coast

For an unparalleled experience of rural, semi-rural and not-so-rural England, you can do a walking tour of the country, coast to coast. If you walk from the North Sea to the Irish Sea, you will pass through three national parks, including the incredible Lake District. If you’re a history buff you will see artefacts and buildings dating from the Roman era to Tudor times. You can download complete guides to doing this walk, complete with inn recommendations so that you’re never caught out in the cold.

England is a very friendly country, well organised and with plenty of available amenities at all times. You’re never too far from a cheap chain hotel or a café offering something slathered in cheese. Each major city is unique in character, so be prepared for a culture shock as you travel from North to South and East to West.
