Quick Bio

Break On Through is a Punk band from Ft. Lauderdale Florida, USA.

Sick of bands in their area that represented the flavor of the week and similarly, a dim-witted, dumbed down rough edge that lacked in melody and harmony, Break On Through was formed in 2006 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Although they are still underdogs in this game, Break On Through have recently completed a handful of dates in the Northeast USA with NOFX/Anti-Flag/Old Man Markley in Oct. 2011 and previously landed dates with NOFX/Dillinger Four/The Flatliners in Oct. 2008.The band has also taken the hardship among themselves to book countless tours in between throughout the East and Mid-Western parts of the USA. In July of 2011, Break On Through released "I'm Getting Too Old For This" marking the bands third, and most musically inclined release to date.

Break On Through has performed live with major acts such as: NOFX (Fat Wreck Chords), Anti-Flag (Fat Wreck Chords), Dillinger Four (Fat Wreck Chords), The Flatliners (Fat Wreck Chords), A Wilhelm Scream (Nitro), Bishop (Dead Truth), The Boils (TKO), We Are The Union (Paper + Plastic), Off With Their Heads (No Idea), The Riot Before (No Idea), Fallen From The Sky (Eulogy), Protagonist (Paper + Plastick), Oma's Zwerge (Noteworksmusic).

NOFX/Anti-Flag Tour: Back home & Future Plans

by Mike 87, posted 11/24/11 15:14:28

NOFX/Anti-Flag Tour: Back home & Future Plans Unfortunately, our string of tour dates with NOFX/Anti-Flag/Old Man Markley are now over. As I have no shame speaking for all of us, it was the most amazing time any of us had ever had. And to have shared it between NOFX, Anti-Flag, & Old Man Markley was unforgettable! These guys (and gals) really made us feel a part of the Fat Wreck family. You know, getting to bond on the road doing what you love to do alongside the bands you grew up on and gave you your identity is a mind blowing. You can’t put a price tag on that. It was an honor to tour with such an epic group of musicians.

Believe it or not, sometimes I feel like people look at me and think, “Jesus Christ, he is still playing in a punk band? That was so high school… When is he going to grow up and get a real job?” You know what, I’m proud to say I’m a musician; that I have a burning desire to do what makes me happy regardless of money or social status. After this, I’ll never end up dropping my head again over people’s petty remarks.

As for that, the chapter closes and a new one begins. It’s now time to look towards the future. We’ve got our eyes set on a brand new website, some kick ass interviews in line on separate occasions with DJ Monsta and our friend Nick in NY, some great shows before the end of the year that you don’t want to miss, and the works of the release of a new record. Somewhere in all of that, we'll have to make some time to tour back to your lovely town.

Go check out this gnarly review on the home page of the "Boston BlogHead" of the opening night of the tour:

Stop by our "Photos" section to see the photos documenting the tour.

2011: Round One Update

by Mike 87, posted 05/25/11 10:39:12

2011: Round One Update Wow. Greetings everyone. Ive sort of forgot how to write one of these as it has been a while since I was obligated to do such a task. Did you catch all that? Well, at least I havent lost my pitiable humor right?

Anyway, it seems that the past year & a half has tested our dedication to this band far beyond what we had ever imagined (and planned to experience). Fans, friends, and family know that undedicated members and countless line-up changes have really plagued our ability to stay active and continue to perform. Well, I am here to tell you that all of that bummer talk is over. BREAK ON THROUGH IS ALIVE.

On that note, I would like to introduce you to our new members:

Daniel-Lead Guitar
Seth-Drums

Some of you may be asking yourself, what happened to John? John is still a close friend of the band, and we wish him the best of luck with his future ventures, but the fact is that John just was not cut out for this band and did not see eye to eye with our goals and objectives. He eventually quit on a good note.

Since the ring in of the 2011 New Year, we have been skipping church like badasses and meeting up for rehearsals instead; learning our set, tightening up on our weak areas, and refurbishing some classic BOT tunes. It has been nothing short of a fun and productive process. In a few weeks we will be launching brand new band photos for all of you guys to see as well as the second round of mouth watering news so stay tuned; you dont want to miss it!

Be sure to become a fan and “Like” us on Facebook. If you are already a fan, show us some love with a comment: Find us here: www.facebook.com/breakonthrough954.

Also, please opt into our mailing list by sending us a message to BreakOnThrough@ymail.com. E-mail has proven to be one of the most effective ways to stay in touch in the long run with our fans. In return, we will give you downloadable access to our current EP titled “Pulling Teeth” for FREE! FREE? It must be good! Damn right it is!

We are super excited to know that in the next few months, we will be back to our old filthy habits! On an end note, someone once said and I quote, “Break On Through like Jesus cause that band keep on resurrecting dawg.” God, I hope I never have to hear such a freakin quote again… We love you.

-Mike, Chris, Daniel, & Seth

A New Era of Terra -- We Are Back!

by Mike 87, posted 08/09/10 20:47:42

A New Era of Terra -- We Are Back! I know we have not said anything since last year, so here it is:

We did have big plans for 2010, but we hit another ditch in the road and have been down and out since January. We ran into drummer problems and had to take a small (but what seemed like forever) hiatus until we found the right person for the job. Needless to say, in such a bone dry area that south Florida is for a real good drummer, we were lucky to find Dan, our current, and hope to be, long lasting member behind the drum set. With no need to talk about the past as it doesnt matter anymore, we are in the process of making a new run at this in what Id like to call --A New Era of Terra.--

Along with the introduction of Dan, Ive been itching to announce that our brand new photos are up now on our Facebook and Myspace pages and a comeback show is set for Friday September 10th, 2010 at Rocketown in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. You can find the flier attached with all the details here and don’t forget to check out those photos huh? Leave some feedback!

We would all like to thank the following people for making this possible:

-Management: Kel Dawson
-Photography: Kumiko Kawashima
-Photo editing: Gabby Estevez
-Too much sh!t to put a label on: Sterling Salzberg
-Mikes parents for letting us make noise in their house for countless hours in which theyd possibly contemplate suicide — A.K.A band practice.
-Lastly, we would like to thank the supporting acts on the show which include: The Dead Legs, Hivemind, Mute Issue, and Bell Tower Falls. We appreciate your support and for being so stoked on this show’s happening!

On a personal note, it would be outstanding if you could help us spread the word about this show and this band, Break On Through. It really just takes a FEW clicks of the mouse which can create a HUGE domino effect of promotion! Believe it or not, an artists fans and followers are the other half of the life they lead. Without you, we are worth nothing but in the eyes of ourselves. Lets make this happen!

Thanks

Break On Through- Mike, John, Chris, and Dan.
